Great Glen Energy Co-operative was established in 2008 for the purpose of owning a stake in the Millennium wind farm located near Invergarry.

Great Glen Energy Co-op has given local people, as a matter of priority, and others, an opportunity to invest in the production of renewable energy.

Great Glen Energy Co-operative Ltd is an Industrial & Provident Society.

The share issue was managed by Energy4All Ltd, a company established to provide support to co-operative wind farm projects around the UK.

Great Glen Energy Co-op has been established to provide an opportunity for all who are concerned with the effects of climate change to become involved in the ownership and operation of a wind farm. It was especially, but not exclusively, aimed at groups and individuals local to the wind farm.

Since we started generating, some profits each year have been donated to our community benefit fund to help other organisations in the local area. You can find out about the kinds of projects we have supported here.
